General Information
Board of Directors - United Singles Club is governed by a Board of Directors who act to manage the organization. Officers and Board members are elected at the Annual Meeting in April and serve without monetary compensation.
Volunteers:
Everything in this club is done by volunteers. We collect donations only (no admission or cover charge) at TGIF dances and other US activities. These donations cover the cost of items such as subsidizing our activities and printing and mailing of the US Newsletter. We are always in need of volunteers to help at the TGIF dances by doing things like greeting at the door, learning how to be a DJ, and more. We also welcome members willing to host an activity in their homes or elsewhere (for example, mini-golf). Any and all help is appreciated.
Newsletters: United Singles produces a Newsletter which lists the Club activities. It is e-mailed or mailed to members, your choice. The Newsletter describes in detail the activities that are shown on the website calendar.
Sunshine: We send out cards and/or flowers to members in time of need.
Home Events: Members can volunteer to host an activity (for example, a game night or a 4th of July BBQ) at their homes. You provide the space and everyone who attends brings a potluck or snack item.
Membership: Membership is open to anyone single and over 21 years old. New memberships and renewals are $30 per year. Membership entitles members to a copy of the US Newsletter, free or reduced cost for some activities, and reminders about Club functions in addition to what’s in the Newsletter.
SRC Affiliation: The SRC dances listed in our Activities Section are held by a similar club in the Tacoma area. We have a similar purpose and advertise for one another but we are not affiliated. To the extent possible, we try to schedule our activities so they don’t conflict with one another. People can become and are members of both clubs.
